Remedial Massage / Deep Tissue Massage

Unlike classic massage therapy, which is used for relaxation, this massage usually focuses on a specific problem, such as:

  •       Chronic pain
  •       Limited mobility, such as frozen shoulder
  •       Recovery from injuries (e.g. whiplash, falls, sports injury)
  •       Repetitive strain injury, such as carpal tunnel syndrome
  •       Postural problems
  •       Osteoarthritis pain
  •       Fibromyalgia
  •       Muscle tension or spasm
  •       Back pain

In August 2005 an issue of a consumer report magazine, reported a significant number of people (approx 34,000) rated deep tissue massage more effective in relieving osteoarthritis pain than physical therapy, exercise, medications, chiropractic, acupuncture, diet, glucosamine and over-the-counter drugs.
In addition it was the highest rating for relieving Fibromyalgia pain and improving range of motion.
