Massagefitness
This Treatment is especially suitable for those taking part in sporting activities, or those who have a very physical job / lifestyle.
Sports Massage and Sports Therapy is a form of bodywork that uses Deep Tissue, Soft Tissue Release, Myofascial Release ( a technique developed by a physical therapist to gently relieve restrictions and tightness in connective tissue - fascia. When properly performed, it may decrease connective tissue’s pull on bones, allowing muscle fibers to relax and lengthen and organs to expand), Muscle Energy Techniques (MET), Trigger Point Therapy and Swedish massage techniques as well as Ultrasound Therapy and Dry Needling, all specifically adapted to deal with the effects of intense physical exertion on the body. |
A regular sports massage / therapy treatment can help prevent / treat injury and enhance performance. Its primary purpose is to ease stiffness and pain and increase mobility in the muscles and joints, warm muscle and connective tissue prior to exercise and help in removing toxins and lactic acid after a workout.
It can also be used to help release trapped nerves and correct damaged muscle tissue, as well as to soften hyper-tonic muscles which have caused joint restriction and structural misalignment. |
